The HIV Medicine Association (HIVMA) is pleased to announce their annual call for applicants for the HIVMA Minority Clinical Fellowship program. A growing shortage of HIV medical providers coupled with increased demand for HIV care leaves some of the communities hardest hit by HIV disease in the U.S. without access to HIV medical providers. The fellowship program supports underrepresented minority physicians (of African-American or Latino descent) in obtaining a concentrated year of clinical training in HIV medicine. The goal of the program is to increase the pool of physicians from communities that have been disproportionately affected by HIV disease.
Note: Applications for the 2012-2013 program will be accepted until January 2, 2011.
