Founded in 1895, Bluefield State College (BSC) is a Historically Black College located in Bluefield, West Virginia, and is part of West Virginia’s public education system. Bluefield State offers several degrees within the five academic schools. The School of Nursing and Allied Health offers degrees in nursing and radiologic technology/imaging science. Programs offered include baccalaureate and associate degrees in nursing, baccalaureate in imaging science, and the associate degree in radiologic technology. The BSN program is a nationally accredited RN to BSN program that is designed for the working registered nurse.

All nursing classes are offered on line and some courses require clinical experiences that may be completed in the student’s home county/state. Students have 3 options for attending the required classes: Attend live class on the Bluefield campus, attend live class virtually from their home computer, or watch the archived class video within one week from when the class was held. The mission of the Bluefield State College School of Nursing and Allied Health is to provide a quality, affordable and geographically accessible educational foundation for professions in nursing, a variety of imaging modalities and studies in allied health.
