HIV Response has been identified as one of four key strategies to Ending the HIV Epidemic in the United States. Healthcare providers play a critical role responding to HIV outbreaks in people who use drugs. This webinar will review the NCCC’s approach to supporting clinicians with implementation and optimization of HIV prevention and treatment strategies for people who use drugs including PrEP, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, and other harm reduction practices. Based on real cases, key interventions for responding to the overlapping HIV and SUD syndemic will be discussed, and ideas on overcoming clinical, informational, and cultural challenges in building capacity to respond to this syndemic will be shared. CEUs will be available.
