HIV and Stigma: Addressing Stigma in Primary Care Practice, Fostering an Inclusive Clinic Environment Around HIV Prevention

Shawn Demmons, MPH, will discuss the stigma surrounding HIV and HIV prevention. Discussion will include strategies to reduce stigma associated with HIV prevention in the primary care setting.

• Explore the current landscape of HIV stigmas in LGBT healthcare
• Describe how HIV stigmas can act as barriers to care
• Identify culturally appropriate models and practices that address HIV-related stigmas
