This presentation will include a review of oral opportunistic infections and post exposure prophylaxis.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Articulate the impact of oral opportunistic infections in people with HIV
- Cite dental treatment considerations for people with HIV and how they differ or do not differ from the general population
- Define post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) after an exposure in the dental setting
- Diagnose the most common oral manifestations seen in association with HIV infection, including a focus on the role of HPV (human papillomavirus)
