HIV Test and Counseling Practicum AM Session

Preferred Audience:
This training is for all healthcare professionals, including health educators, mental health providers, substance abuse professionals, social workers, case managers, and public health professionals.
 
Purpose: This training provides an opportunity for healthcare team members to practice HIV test counseling skills that help clients increase their comfort in offering HIV tests and giving HIV results.
 
Program Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
•Illustrate the offering of client-centered HIV testing.
•Apply client-centered counseling techniques in giving HIV test results.
•Demonstrate how client-centered testing techniques can enhance the number of patients diagnosed with HIV, linked and retained in care.
 
Prerequisite:
TO BE ELIGIBLE TO REGISTER FOR THIS PRACTICUM, PARTICIPANTS MUST FIRST ATTEND THE MATEC HIV TEST COUNSELING SEMINAR OR HAVE EQUIVALENT TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE
