#HIVHCVCoinfection
The Health Resources and Services Administration-funded AETC HIV/HCV Co-infection Community of Practice and Learning initiative, facilitated by the AETC National Coordinating Resource Center, has designated May 17th as the annual HIV/HCV Co-infection Awareness Day. This date was chosen to complement HIV Vaccine Awareness Day - May 18, Hepatitis Testing Day - May 19, and National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day – May 19, which are inclusive of several activities planned during the month of May, Hepatitis Awareness Month. HIV/HCV Co-infection Awareness Day provides an opportunity for healthcare providers and health departments to educate colleagues, constituents, and clients about the importance of curing HCV infection in people living with HIV.
