This educational program aims to provide attendees with the most recent data and updates related to HIV and special subject matters that have both negative and positive impacts on patient health outcomes. In West Virginia, persons at risk for acquiring HIV and those currently living with HIV are concurrently affected by poverty, health disparities, intimate partner violence and intravenous drug use. Program attendees will also receive education pertaining to the difficulties in the treatment of HIV in patients with substance abuse and affective illnesses and understand gender-neutral language and terms.
