This document highlights 7 key adult learning principles paired with related rationales and teaching tips. The principles are: Adults are relevancy-oriented, practical, goal-oriented learners. Adults need to retain the information for it to be integrated into their work. Adults need transference of learning to use the information effectively. Adults come with a wealth of experiences to the training. Adults tend to have a problem-centered orientation to learning. Adults have different learning styles. Adults tend to learn better with active learning (engagement) than passive learning.
