Methamphetamine 2021: Focus on HIV



The use of methamphetamine (MA) is increasing in many parts of the United States. There is substantial new information about the role of MA in the overdose crisis, the effects of MA on the body and brain, clinical challenges, and evidence-based treatments.

MA use plays a unique role in the transmission of HIV as a function of its promotion of high-risk sexual behavior, particularly among men who have sex with men. This recording covers these areas and offers strategies for improving outcomes and reducing harm with individuals who use MA.
