This training was intended to increase the learner's confidence in initiating risk assessment conversations with patients. It did this by modeling four different exchanges that might occur in the dental office or clinic between the patient and the care provider.

The topics covered included the following:

  • Pregnancy and HIV
  • Adherence to Antiretroviral Medications
  • Illegal Drug Use and Oral Sex

This program was intended for all practitioners involved in caring for the oral health needs of patients. Developed with assistance from the PAETC Oral Health Advisory Group.
