The Motivational Interviewing (MI) pocket card provides a brief overview of principles and best practices for successfully eliciting behavior change with patients. MI elicits the patient’s motivation and personal reasons for changing and has been empirically validated for culturally diverse populations in the context of chronic medical problems, psychiatric disorders, medication adherence, diet and exercise, and drug and alcohol use. This pocket card lays out the “dos and don'ts” of eliciting and strengthening motivation for change with patients. Click on the link above to order hard copies of this resource.
