Description

During this event, best practices for conducting comprehensive HIV prevention and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) Assessments for underserved communities will be provided by a physician subject-matter expert. Strategies and recommendations are intended to support clinicians working in primary care and HIV clinic settings.

Objectives

Define the state of the HIV and STI epidemics in the US and how they disproportionally affect underserved communities
Identify the basics and importance of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention.
Explain the principles of comprehensive sexual health and sexual history taking.
Recognize special considerations in caring for underserved populations using a risk-reduction philosophy.
