As there is no standard of care for the management of oral premalignant lesions other than surveillance, this seminar will present emerging approaches in the management of the lesions and introduce the concept of active surveillance in patients with or without HIV.

Objectives

  • Recognize and stratify the risk of cancer transformation of premalignant lesions, including in patients with HIV.
  •  Determine when a clinical consultation is needed and whom to consult.
  • From surveillance to active surveillance, take a more proactive approach.

Speaker

Hervé Y. Sroussi DMD, PhD
Associate Surgeon and Director for Research, Division of Oral Medicine and Dentistry, Brigham and Women’s Hospital Associate Professor, Department of Oral Medicine, Infection and Immunity, Harvard School of Dental Medicine
