Join the Southeast AETC for an educational session exploring practical approaches to sexual history taking and chemoprophylaxis for HIV and STI prevention. Participants will learn strategies for conducting inclusive, patient-centered sexual health assessments and identifying appropriate prevention options to support informed care and reduce HIV and STI transmission.

Objectives

  • Describe frameworks and tools for obtaining comprehensive, patient-centered sexual histories using nonjudgmental communication
  • Discuss the role of doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis (Doxy PEP) in reducing bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
  • Apply appropriate prophylaxis strategies for HIV prevention, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP).
