This MATEC's six-session 2026 HIV Intensive Nursing Review serves as an intensive review for nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in HIV and AIDS care. The course is designed to offer a comprehensive review of HIV-related information and to be interactive, to allow attendees to share ideas, information, and experiences.

Objectives

  • Describe tools for the clinical management of HIV, and tests for monitoring and analyzing HIV resistance.
  • List oral, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, and other categories of Opportunities Infections.
  • Discuss AIDS defining conditions: manifestations, diagnosis, prevention and treatment, and nursing interventions such as labs, dosing, and medications.
  • Discuss treatments for Opportunistic Infections and considerations for prescribing these medications.
