This MATEC's six-session 2026 HIV Intensive Nursing Review serves as an intensive review for nurses and other healthcare professionals involved in HIV and AIDS care. The course is designed to offer a comprehensive review of HIV-related information and to be interactive, to allow attendees to share ideas, information, and experiences.

Objectives

  • Describe the viral lifecycles and how HIV affects normal immune system functions.
  • Discuss HIV anatomy and cellular mechanisms of infection.
  •  Describe the typical course of HIV disease and targets of HIV infection.
  •  Discuss HIV screening/lab testing considerations.
