MATEC-Wisconsin's annual accredited Advanced Clinical Workshop will use a case-based, interactive format to examine the impact of HIV on veteran populations and to translate Veterans Health Administration (VA) research into practical insights for HIV care across all settings. Designed for an interprofessional audience—including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers, and others involved in HIV care and prevention—the program will engage participants through real-world cases, moderated discussion, and opportunities to actively apply evidence from VA-based research to the care of people with HIV regardless of veteran status. Interactive elements will encourage participants to share perspectives across disciplines, explore care coordination strategies, and identify actionable opportunities to better support veterans and other people with HIV through patient-centered, collaborative approaches relevant in Wisconsin and beyond.

Objectives

  • Illustrate the impact of HIV on veteran populations
  • Demonstrate the broad applicability of Veterans Administration (VA) research that can inform care for people with HIV regardless of veteran status
  • Identify opportunities for supporting veterans with HIV
