This in-person educational session will provide an overview of emerging and practical topics in HIV care. Dr. Villanueva will present on the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, highlighting real-world HIV patient scenarios and considerations for clinical practice. Anne Behr will review long-acting injectable antiretroviral therapy, including patient selection, implementation, and adherence considerations.

Objectives

  • Describe current and emerging applications of artificial intelligence in clinical practice, with a focus on HIV patient care scenarios
  • Discuss the benefits and limitations of AI in HIV care, including considerations for clinical decision making and patient engagement
  • Review the role of long-acting injectable antiretroviral therapy in HIV treatment and prevention
  • Identify appropriate patient populations for long-acting injectable ART and key considerations for initiation and adherence
  • Apply updated HIV treatment concepts to real-world patient cases and interprofessional care settings
