Objectives:
- Understand the association of high-risk HPV infection and the risk of anal cancer.
- Review the findings of the ANCHOR study which showed a 57% decrease in the incidence of anal cancer in people living with HIV by treating HSIL.
- Review screening algorithims for anal cancer in people with HIV.
- Appreciate how anal cytology and high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) are performed and how to diagnose high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL).
