Objectives:

Understand the association of high-risk HPV infection and the risk of anal cancer.
Review the findings of the ANCHOR study which showed a 57% decrease in the incidence of anal cancer in people living with HIV by treating HSIL.
Review screening algorithims for anal cancer in people with HIV.
Appreciate how anal cytology and high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) are performed and how to diagnose high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (HSIL).
