Patients often present to clinics with a wide range of concerns, and certain skin findings may signal the need for an infectious disease referral. This webinar will cover indicator skin conditions that may be seen in an outpatient setting. This webinar will also cover recommendations for testing in adults in health care settings, as well as other necessary information in HIV and skin disorder case scenarios.

Objectives

  • Review the CDC’s Recommendations for HIV Testing in Adults in Health Care Settings
  • Discuss opt-out testing models
  • Recognize associated disease states like tuberculosis and sexually transmitted infections
  • Examine indicator conditions that should indicate a need for testing for HIV and evaluation in the outpatient setting, such as psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, and peripheral neuropathy.
