Delivered by experts in the field, this training will provide the interprofessional team with an overview of trends and support the development of key skills to identify and respond to HIV infection. This training will also be useful to experienced allied health care professionals who seek an update of treatment and management recommendations.

- Describe the epidemiology of HIV locally, nationally, and globally
- Identify current trends in the HIV epidemic and implications for patient care
- Describe the clinical course of HIV and common manifestations associated with HIV disease
- Describe laboratory tests used to diagnose HIV and assess a patient’s health
- Explain current recommendations for managing the primary care of patients with HIV
- Explain the guidelines for the use and monitoring of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in patients with HIV
