This two-hour interactive training will focus on women and HIV prevention through the uptake of Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP). This training will explore the current landscape of women and HIV, PrEP, and the disparities seen in this population, especially in women of color. We will explore how to overcome these disparities in practice using an empowerment lens.

Objectives

  • Describe the current landscape of PrEP awareness and uptake for women.
  • Summarize why women can benefit from PrEP.
  • Discuss why PrEP is an important tool for HIV prevention for women.
  • Describe why we see less uptake of PrEP usage and awareness in women.
