Join the MidAtlantic AETC for this one-day in-person course that provides guidelines and skill-building opportunities for professionals who implement prevention counseling and HIV antibody testing.

The Facts course is a prerequisite for this course.

Participants will be able to

  • Identify strategies to support clients in making behavior changes that will reduce the risk of acquiring or transmitting HIV
  • Demonstrate through practice sessions the six steps of prevention counseling
  • Support the client in making a decision about testing and preparing for the result
  • Assist the client who tests to begin to integrate the result emotionally, behaviorally, and socially
