The Ryan White Medical Case Management (MCM) Certified Training Series is a comprehensive, 12-month curriculum designed to equip case managers with the structural knowledge, clinical literacy, and behavioral health competencies required to deliver high-impact, client-centered care.Moving from the macro-level systems of public health funding down to the micro-level skills of behavioral intervention, this series builds a cohesive framework for supporting people living with HIV. Participants will journey through the legal and operational foundations of the Ryan White program, master current HIV treatment guidelines, confront systemic and personal biases, and acquire advanced clinical communication tools to foster trust, safety, and long-term retention in care.

Objectives

  • Navigate the regulatory boundaries, roles, and administrative expectations of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.
  • Synthesize current HIV biomedical treatments and public health partner services into daily client education and care coordination.
  • Apply standardized client acuity metrics to develop, monitor, and update dynamic, equity-driven care plans.
  • Implement trauma-informed, evidence-based behavioral strategies—including Motivational Interviewing and Shared Decision Making—to support clients navigating substance use and mental health challenges.
