Objectives
- Define and differentiate polypharmacy and medication regimen complexity and analyze their impact on health outcomes in people aging with HIV
- Assess contributing factors to polypharmacy, including comorbid conditions, prescribing cascade, and prescribing inertia
- Evaluate medication regimens in people living with HIV by performing comprehensive medication reconciliation and identifying clinically significant drug–drug interactions involving antiretroviral therapy
- Apply evidence-based strategies to optimize and simplify medication regimens, including deprescribing algorithms and patient-centered recommendations
