As HIV prevention, diagnosis, and treatments have improved, people with HIV are living longer and approaching life expectancies of people without HIV. There is still, however, a life expectancy gap that is informed by the earlier onset of chronic medical conditions and geriatric syndromes. This talk highlights the epidemiology of HIV and aging, the challenges for people with HIV age 50 and older, and poses questions for further care model refinement.
