Founded in 1962, The University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) is a public, co-ed, land-grant HBCU (Historically Black College and University) in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). Approximately 2,500 students are enrolled on the two campuses: The Albert A. Sheen Campus on St. Croix, and the St. Thomas Campus. The institution offers 47 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across its five colleges and schools. The School of Nursing (SON) has two generic nursing programs on two campuses. On the St. Thomas Campus and the Albert A. Sheen (AAS) on St. Croix the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Graduates of both programs are eligible to apply to take the licensure exam, NCLEX-RN, in any state or territory. There is also a BSN Completion Program on both campuses for eligible nurses who wish to complete the bachelor’s degree.
