Minerva Layug-Gomez, MSN, RN, PCCN, joined the AETC NCRC in 2023, as a Nurse Education Specialist.
Minerva has a BSN from Seton Hall University and an MSN in nursing education from Thomas Edison State University. After providing services as a Registered Nurse for 8 years in a Magnet Recognized and High Reliability Organization, Minerva gained expertise in post open-heart management, cardiac interventional procedures, medical surgical telemetry, and level III neonatal intensive care. In 2019, Ms. Layug-Gomez became a Nurse Professional Development Practitioner at the Center for Professional Development Innovation and Research at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. In this role, Minerva promoted the professional development of nursing personnel, organized orientations, in-services, continuing education, annual competencies, fostered preceptor and mentor development, and generated evidence-based material for diverse educational programs and courses.
As the Nurse Education Specialist of the AETC NCRC, Minerva is an active member of the communities of practice and learning to assist with development of needed training materials.
