SUMMARY:

The listing of Impairments (listings) used to evaluate claims involving human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in adults and children. This is under under the revised titles II and XVI of the Social Security Act (Act). The introductory text of the listings that is used to evaluate functional limitations resulting from immune system disorders has also been revised. The revisions reflect the program's experience, advances in medical knowledge, the adjudicative experience, recommendations from a commissioned report, and comments from medical experts and the public.
