Empowerment through Awareness: HIV Testing and Substance Use Disorder

This in-person event will describe current United States and West Virginia HIV epidemiology and outbreaks, CDC recommendations for HIV testing, demographics and epidemiology of new HIV diagnoses in West Virginia, Appalachia, and the United States, discuss HIV transmission and commonly used substances and associated risk, and compare the overlap in HIV prevention and the health outcomes of people who inject drugs (PWID).
