Healing (Trauma) Informed Care (HIC) is a best practice model applicable to all in the helping field, including physicians, nurses, therapists/counselors, community health, case managers, peer specialists, etc. This workshop provides an overview of HIC, an examination of stress & trauma, as well as practical approaches for work with those who are stressed/traumatized & triggered. Gain some knowledge, skills and confidence in to reduce trauma &/or triggers in your work.

At the end of the workshop, learners will be able to:
• Identify the impact of stress/trauma
• Describe triggers
• Identify at least 2 approaches that are helpful with stress/trauma
• Plan to integrate what you learned in your practice
